Conversion to condos at D.C. hotel, 2 relocations lead permits
Welcome to this Tuesday edition of permits. Let's get straight to it.
- 2660 Connecticut Ave. NW: The JBG Cos. will convert 162 hotel rooms on the third through the eighth floors of the Marriott Wardman Park into 31 luxury condominium units. Work will also include a new lobby, fitness room, lounge and storage spaces on the ground-floor level, and the introduction of three rooftop deck areas. The condos will be served by a new underground garage, which was the subject of a previously issued permit.
- 2099 Pennsylvania Ave. NW: Interior renovation to office space on the sixth, seventh, 11th and 12th floors for Ropes & Gray LLP. The law firm, currently housed at 700 12th St. NW, recently signed a lease for 60,000 square feet.
- 2112 Eighth St. NW: Renovations to existing first-floor tenant space in the JBG Cos.' Atlantic Plumbing building for Washington Project for the Arts, to include new office space and an exhibit gallery. Washington Project for the Arts is currently headquartered at 10 Eye St. SW in the Capitol Skyline Hotel. This is a relocation, not an expansion.
- 600 Maryland Ave. SW: Interior renovation to fourth-floor office space for Cexec, a Reston-based management consultant. Cexec currently operates a D.C. office out of 525 School St. SW.
- 440 First St. NW: Renovations to seventh-floor office space for Lewis Burke Associates LLC, a government relations firm currently headquartered at 1341 G St. NW.
- 1775 Massachusetts Ave. NW: Renovation of the Brookings Institution bookstore, to include restroom finishes, bookstore finishes and millwork changes, and mechanical and electrical upgrades.
- 3120 13th St. NW: Conversion of a single-family home into a two-family flat.
Exclusive: New $47M Scottsdale condos to have private VIP nightclub
A new $47 million condominium development in Old Town Scottsdale will include an in-house nightclub.
The residents-only Black Label Lounge is part of Deco Communities' Envy Residences under construction in Scottsdale.
“Privacy, exclusivity and style are what Envy buyers are looking for in a social space,” said developer Rob Lyles,
a partner with Deco Communities. “Some people can reserve a private
table or area at a lounge or nightclub, but very few can reserve the
entire venue for their own private use, which was what inspired the
creation of the Black Label Lounge within the Envy building."
